Webinar, April 16th, 2025, with Learning Prep School in West Newton, MA. Part 2 in their Road Ahead series. As students who have received services on IEPs and 504 plans enter the postsecondary arena, the need for clarity and information on the process for this successful transition is needed.
* Attendees will gain an understanding of the difference between services and accommodations for students from K-12 to college/postsecondary settings and how best to prepare their students for success through fostering independence, metacognition and self-advocacy skills.
About the speaker: Susan Woods was the Associate Dean of Student Support Services Emeritus at Middlesex Community College. During her tenure at Middlesex Community College, she managed the Transition Program, Disability Support Services, and TRIO student support programs, and coordinated the Student Assessment Intervention Team. She has also worked as a Policy Analyst for the Department of Mental Retardation and Mental Health, developing community-based service planning initiatives. Susan has served as an adjunct faculty member in Psychology and Education, teaching courses focused on developmental disabilities, exceptional learners, and the psychology of success.
