Framingham, MA, October 24th, 2026. The Arc of Massachusetts 2026 Transition Conference theme is Transition Journeys 2026: Tools for Today, Hope for Tomorrow. This full‑day conference is designed for families of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and autism who are preparing for the transition to adulthood.
* Transition Journeys 2026 brings together families, self‑advocates, professionals, and parents with lived experience to share knowledge, insights, and resources. Attendees will learn how to best prepare their child for life after high school, understand adult services, and gain practical tools and resources to advocate for the future they envision for their loved one.
* Find than 20 workshops covering the critical areas families need to understand during transition. Topics include:
making the most of the school years
adult decision‑making
transitioning to adult healthcare
resources to support mental health, behavior, and complex needs
transportation; vocational training; housing;
getting college ready; and
strategies for successful advocacy.
Panel discussions throughout the day will highlight real‑world experiences and lessons learned from those who have navigated the journey.
