August 29th, 2026, 12 – 3 p.m., with the Winthrop Commission on Disabilities, MWRA, Mass Advocates Standing Strong, Access 2 Community and Friendship, WINARC, and Division of Marine Fisheries. Free. Join in on going to Deer Island for a day of inclusive recreation and fun. This is a rain or shine event.
* Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the view.
Family-friendly, accessible, and inclusive activities include:
• Learn How To Fish – bait, rod & reel ready for your lesson!
• Cycling with Adaptive Bikes
• Take A Pedicab Around The Island
• Cruise around the island aboard the MV Massachusetts.
* Registration required so the host can reserve enough bikes and rods & reels.
* Register especially if you are requesting an accommodation.
* Allow at least two weeks (14 days) advance notice when requesting accommodations.
* Last-minute requests will be accepted, but the host may be unable to fulfill the request.
* Reservations for all activities are “first come, first served” basis – they are not guarantees for certain times.
* Tickets for the boat cruise will be distributed at the event.
