Boston, Museum of Fine Arts, October 5th, 2024. For kids with Autism Spectrum Disorders, ages 8 – 12. Artful Healing and Beyond the Spectrum offer a specially designed program for Autism Spectrum, including Asperger’s Syndrome, accompanied by a parent or caregiver.
October Theme: 
Surrealist Masquerade: Dali’s Dreamscape. Delve into the fascinating and surreal world of Salvador Dali, one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. Begin with an exclusive tour of a special gallery dedicated to Dali’s works,  examine his unique artistic style, symbolism, and the dreamlike qualities that define surrealism.
* Discuss Dali’s innovative techniques, his use of unexpected juxtapositions, and the deeper meanings behind his provocative imagery. This immersive experience will provide insight into the artist’s creative process and the philosophical ideas that shaped the surrealist movement
* Following the gallery visit, return to the classroom for a mask-making activity. Drawing inspiration from Dali’s surrealist visions, participants will create their own unique masks using a variety of materials and techniques.
* This hands-on project will allow particpants to experiment with surrealist concepts, combining unexpected elements to produce wearable works of art that challenge reality and spark the imagination.
* Explore the mind-bending world of Salvador Dali and to craft your own surrealist-inspired mask masterpiece.
