Boston, Museum of Fine Arts, May 17th, 2025. For teens with Autism Spectrum and Aspergers Disorders ages 13 to 18. Focus on specific art topics and incorporate discussion, critical inquiry, and sketching in the galleries. Students then work independently on a project with guidance from an experienced instructor.
May Theme: Wonderful Weaving. Weaving is a craft that humans have been practicing for thousands of years, from simple, everyday textiles to beautifully decorated works of art.
* Learn about the process, technique, and cultural significance of weaving by exploring woven pieces from the MFA’s collection.
* Then, return to the studio to experiment with texture, fibers, and textiles with a weaving-inspired art project.
