Boston, MA, June 13th, 2026. For individuals who are blind or vision impaired ages 7 and up. Compete, play, and connect with peers at Blind Sports Day. Participants will be grouped by age and will rotate sport stations together.
Essential eligibility requirements include
• ability to follow and learn from coach instruction
• ability to function effectively and respectfully among a group of peers
• ability to participate independent of family/caregivers (sport guides and assistants will be provided)
Sports activities will include:
Goalball – Teams of three players wear blackout eyeshades and roll a jingling ball into the opponent’s net while defending their own goal, relying entirely on sound and touch.
Beep Baseball – An adapted version of baseball for visually impaired athletes, featuring a softball that emits a continuous “beep” and two tall, buzzing, foam bases (first and third). Instructed by members of the Boston Strong Beep Baseball Team.
Rowing – Try out rowing machines and learn proper techniques! Hear from Community Rowing, Inc. instructors and learn about rowing on the Charles River throughout the year.
Running/Walking – With support from Achilles International Boston, walk or run with a sighted guide on BC High’s 400-meter track. Build up to 20 minutes of movement or try a 100-meter guided sprint.
