An Astra Foundation on-line support group for parents who are familiar with principles of DIR/FloortimeTM.
* The curriculum will respond to the current needs of the individuals in the group with discussions shaped around their experience with their child.
* Workshops will involve short presentations and discussion of the children’s development.
* Parents will share two videotapes of their children with the group in a non-critical and supportive atmosphere.
Topics might include using the DIR model to:
- Go deeper with Floortime
- Use an affect-based approach to academics.
- Understand behavior and regulation.
- Improve communication and motor planning.
- Foster peer and sibling interactions.
- Share the experiences of supporting children with uneven profiles.
