George W. Russell Jr. and Friends band Martin Luther King Day Event at the JFK Library in BostonBoston, MA, January 19th, 2026. George W. Russell Jr. and Friends – “The Soundtrack of MLK’s Life”. Join a performance with George W. Russell Jr. and Friends in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The JFK Library will offer free admission to Museum galleries from 10:00 am-2:00 pm to all visitors. Youths ages 17 and under are always free.
* This is an inclusive program and both people with and without disabilities are always welcomed. Sensory flexible adaptive options and a flexible calming space (quiet room) will be available for anyone who needs a break at any time, especially anyone experiencing sensory overload.
* learn how music inspired and motivated Americans during the civil rights movement and enjoy some of Dr. King’s favorite songs. Between musical performances, enjoy some maker activities and explore the Museum galleries. Musical performances begin at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
* 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. “Soundtrack to the Life of MLK” concert with George W. Russell Jr. and Friends.
* 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Enjoy maker activities related to MLK’s values of civil rights and freedom for all. Visit the Museum galleries.  Explore the early 1960s and the Kennedy administration
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. – “Soundtrack to the Life of MLK” concert with George W. Russell Jr. and Friends
1:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. – Enjoy maker activities related to MLK’s values of civil rights and freedom for all
