Webinar, October 22, 2026, with the AANE of Watertown, MA. Love, Sex, and Autism: Practical Guidance for Authentic Intimacy – Exploring love, sex, and intimacy in the lives of Autistic adults. Led by licensed clinician Candice Christiansen, the session will challenge common misconceptions about autism and relationships while offering a more informed and empathetic look at intimacy, communication, sensory differences, and connection.
* This workshop may be of particular interest to family members and professionals who support Autistic adults as they navigate relationships and intimacy.
* Candice Christiansen will discuss pervasive myths about autism: the misconception that Autistic adults are not interested in, or capable of, love and intimacy. In her work, she welcomes a more honest conversation that centers one truth: Autistic individuals are capable and deserving of love, healthy sex, and intimacy where they feel safe to be themselves. As part of this truth, though, many Autistic adults also face real-life intimacy challenges—from experiencing differences in neurolove languages and sensory issues in the bedroom to navigating out-of-control sexual behavior and betrayal trauma.
* Explore the full picture of intimacy on the spectrum and create space for a more informed, empathetic understanding of autistic love, sex, and connection.
