Holyoke, MA, July 4th, 2026, with Jericho. Gather for an evening of reflection, community, and remembrance. Designed to be sensory-friendly and fireworks-free, the celebration offers a peaceful alternative to traditional holiday festivities.
* As part of the evening, participants will release water luminaries, creating a beautiful display of light and hope. The luminaries serve as a reminder of the people, memories, and values that continue to guide us forward.
* Celebrate our nation’s independence while also remembering the life and legacy of Jericho founder Fr. Wagner on what would have been his birthday. Fr. Wagner recognized that individuals with developmental disabilities and their families often felt unseen and underserved, especially within faith communities. Alongside the late Sr. Martha Day and later Sr. Joan Magnani, he began creating opportunities for religious education, spiritual support, and belonging. At a time when few resources existed and even fewer voices were advocating for inclusion, Fr. Wagner helped build a community where every person was welcomed, valued, and loved.
