April & May 2026. Mass Central Rail Trail-Sterling Spur, 25 Gates Road, Sterling, MA. Join DCR for accessible Springtime Sensory Trail Events at Wachusett Reservoir Watershed. Free and open to all abilities and ages.
*Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome.
* No dogs are allowed (unless they are a service animal acting within their service capacity)
* This section of the trail is 3/4 miles round trip. Benches are placed along the way for resting areas. An ADA portable toilet is placed at the start of this stone dust trail.
Saturday April 25, 1-2 p.m. Creatures of the Forest Hike. Explore what the wild things in the watershed are up to this Spring on a guided sensory adventure. This hike will be slow paced and last about an hour.
Friday, May 29, 9-10:30 a.m. Bird Outing. This trail is nestled between two water bodies and is a wonderful place to look and listen for birds and use our senses to observe behavior and habitats. This walk will be 3/4 mile round trip, slow paced and last about one hour.
