They may struggle to connect with early intervention services, understand the special education process, navigate the transition into school, and find the right services and support for their child.
* In this Family Support Friday session, heardescribe strategies and provide tools to help you improve communication and build trust with families as they navigate this process.
* The strategies will include basic tips for plain-language writing, tools to connect with families, and easy-to-read resources for both schools and families.

• Describe why effective engagement and communication are critical for families of young children with disabilities or delays.
• Identify and practice 3 concrete skills to improve communication, build trusting relationships, and have difficult conversations about disabilities or delays.
• Learn how to support families through the transition out of child care or early intervention into the school system.
