Brighton, MA, October 3, 2026, with Mass General Brigham’s Spaulding Rehabilitation Adaptive Sports Centers. Free. The “Try Sled Hockey for Free” event is giving girls and boys ages 4–17, of all abilities, the opportunity to experience sled hockey at the official Boston Bruins practice facility.
* The event is designed especially for youth with disabilities who are interested in discovering a new adaptive sport.
* Participants will have the chance to get on the ice, learn the basics of sled hockey, and experience the sport in a welcoming and supportive environment.
* Equipment, coaching, and on-site support will be provided by Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers.
* Spaulding Adaptive Sports Centers will also host an information table from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., where anyone interested in adaptive sports can learn more about upcoming fall and winter adaptive sports programs and opportunities for to stay active throughout the year.
About Sled Hockey:
* Players propel themselves by using sticks with picks on the end, or with the assistance of a designated pusher.
* Sessions are open to able-bodied friends and family member as well.
* Coaching and equipment are provided to participants in all sled hockey sessions.
* Practices and clinics consist of group drills, small games, scrimmaging, and individual coaching.
